These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Hungary Exam Hero (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Service.

Hungary Exam Hero is an online educational service for people preparing for the Hungarian Cultural Knowledge Exam.

1. Definitions

In these Terms:

"Hero Mode" (also referred to as "Hero access") means the paid version of the Service. Hero Mode requires a one-off payment and unlocks the full question database, unlimited practice sessions across all study modes (subject to reasonable fair use and technical limits), and other premium features listed on our Features page.

"Free access" means the unpaid version of the Service, which allows limited practice including a preview of Exam Mode. Exam Mode is available in both Free access and Hero Mode; using Exam Mode does not by itself mean you have Hero access.

"Account holder" means the individual who registered the account and to whom Hero access, if purchased, is granted.

2. Use of the Service

You agree to use the Service:

Only for lawful purposes.
In a way that does not infringe the rights of others.
In accordance with these Terms and any additional guidance shown within the Service.

You must not:

Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or related systems.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.
Misuse the Service in a way that could damage, overload, or impair it.
Use automated tools, scraping, bots, or similar methods to copy, extract, or harvest content from the Service without permission.

3. Account and Access

The Service uses email and password authentication. You are responsible for:

Keeping your login details confidential.
Making sure the information you provide is accurate.
All activity that occurs under your account.

You must not share your login details with another person or allow another person to use your account.

Each account is intended for one individual learner only. Hero access, including paid access, is personal to the account holder and may not be shared, transferred, resold, or passed on to another person. This applies even if you have already passed your exam or no longer need the Service yourself. Your account may remain available to you, but it does not become a shared, family, group, or transferable account.

4. Age of Users

The Service is intended for users aged 18 or over. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for the account, any payments made, and compliance with these Terms.

5. Hero Access and Single-User Licence

Hero access is sold on the basis of individual use by one learner.

A one-off payment gives the account holder access to paid Hero features without a recurring subscription or automatic renewal. Hero access does not have a fixed expiry date, provided that:

The Service remains available.
Your account is not suspended for breach of these Terms.
You continue to comply with these Terms.

Hero access is to the current version of the Service as it evolves over time, not to a snapshot of features or content at the time of purchase. Hero access includes ongoing updates to the question database and study material at no additional cost. We aim to review and update content regularly but do not guarantee any specific update frequency.

If we permanently discontinue the Service, we will use reasonable efforts to give existing Hero users advance notice. Although Hero access does not have a fixed expiry date, it is not a lifetime guarantee that the Service will exist forever. Where reasonably possible, we aim to maintain Hero access for at least 24 months from the date of purchase, subject to your continued compliance with these Terms.

Hero access is not a shared, family, group, or transferable licence. If another person wants to use Hero features, they need to create and use their own account.

We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe that an account is being shared, transferred, resold, used by multiple people, or otherwise misused.

6. Account Activity and Misuse

To protect the Service, support fair use, and help enforce these Terms, we may review account activity and usage patterns.

For example, we may look at activity such as login patterns or other signs that an account may be used by someone other than the account holder.

If we reasonably believe that an account is being used by someone other than the account holder, we may contact you, ask for clarification, restrict access, suspend the account, or take other reasonable steps to protect the Service.

7. Educational Purpose and No Guarantee

The Service is provided for educational and informational purposes only.

While we aim to keep the content accurate, useful, and up to date, we do not guarantee that:

All material is complete, current, or error-free.
The Service exactly matches the content, structure, wording, or marking approach used in any official exam.
Using the Service will result in passing any exam.
Using the Service will satisfy any legal, immigration, or official requirement.

You are responsible for checking official requirements with the relevant authorities and using additional sources where appropriate.

Official exam requirements, study materials, laws, institutions, government structures, and accepted answers may change over time. We may update the Service to reflect changes, but we cannot guarantee that all content will always reflect the latest official position at the exact time you use it.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the content and materials made available through the Service, including text, questions, answers, explanations, layout, branding, and design, are owned by us or our licensors.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial exam preparation.

You may not:

Copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, adapt, or create derivative works from substantial parts of the Service without permission.
Share paid content outside the Service.
Use the Service to create a competing product or service.
Remove or alter any copyright, branding, or attribution notices.
Systematically extract, screenshot, scrape, copy, or download content from the Service.

9. Payments and Currency

Some features of the Service require a one-off payment. There are no recurring subscriptions or automatic renewals.

You can buy Hero access on the website or in the Android app. Either way, it is added to your Hungary Exam Hero account, so you can use it on both when signed in, without paying twice.

Website prices are shown and charged in Hungarian forints (HUF), unless otherwise stated. If you pay using a card or account in another currency, your bank, card issuer, or payment provider may apply its own exchange rate or fees.

Website payments are processed by Stripe. By paying on the website, you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms and privacy policy. Your bank or card statement may show the payment descriptor CULTURALEXAM.

Android in-app purchases are processed by Google Play. Google Play shows the price and currency before you confirm, and the purchase is also subject to Google Play's terms.

Hungary Exam Hero does not store your full card details.

Access to paid features is granted following successful payment confirmation. If a technical issue prevents access after a confirmed payment, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to resolve it.

10. Money-back Guarantee and Consumer Rights

Hero Mode comes with a 30 day money-back guarantee, whether you bought it on the website or in the Android app. If you are not satisfied with Hero Mode for any reason, please submit a refund request through our contact form within 30 days of your purchase, including your account email. For Android purchases, please also include your Google Play order number if you have it. No reason is required and no questions will be asked.

Website purchases are refunded through Stripe and Android purchases through Google Play. We will process the refund within a reasonable time.

This guarantee is more generous than the 14 day statutory withdrawal right that applies to many online purchases under EU consumer law. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any mandatory consumer rights that apply under the laws of your country of residence. If you are entitled to a refund under applicable consumer law, we will provide it in accordance with that law.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may use or link to third-party websites, platforms, tools, or resources, including payment processors, app stores, hosting providers, authentication services, and official information sources.

We are not responsible for:

The content, policies, or practices of third-party websites or services.
Any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.
The availability, accuracy, or reliability of third-party services or resources.

Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

12. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the Service available and useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

We may modify, update, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. This may include changes to features, content, pricing, access rules, or technical functionality.

We may also update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change accordingly. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted means that you accept the updated Terms.

13. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe that:

You have violated these Terms.
Your account is being shared, transferred, resold, or misused.
Your use of the Service creates a security, legal, operational, or reputational risk.
You have attempted to interfere with, copy, scrape, or exploit the Service or its content.

Where reasonable, we may contact you before taking action. However, we may act without prior notice where we believe this is necessary to protect the Service, other users, or our rights.

14. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

We exclude all warranties, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses.
We are not liable for loss of data, opportunities, reputation, exam results, application outcomes, or other consequences arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability where this would be unlawful.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hungary Exam Hero, Results Consultancy Limited, and any operators, maintainers, contractors, or service providers involved in the Service from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary.

If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not limit or exclude any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply under the laws of your country of residence.

Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hungary, unless applicable consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Where possible, we ask that you contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally.

Nothing in these Terms prevents you from bringing a claim, complaint, or request through any court, authority, consumer protection body, alternative dispute resolution body, or other process that you are entitled to use under applicable law.

17. General

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.

Assignment. We may assign or transfer these Terms and our rights and obligations under them to a successor entity or acquirer of the Service. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent.

Notices. We may give you notices by email to the address associated with your account, by posting on the Service, or by any other reasonable means. Notices to us should be sent through the contact form on our Contact page.

Force majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform under these Terms where the delay or failure is caused by events outside our reasonable control, including natural events, actions of government or regulators, network or infrastructure failures, or third-party service failures.

No waiver. Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce it later.
